Santander, Cebu
Relaxing with the bright scenery along the seashores can leave oneself much satisfied. If you desired to view such type of environment, then visiting Santander, Cebu would be a fine idea. There are many resorts and hotels in the coastal area so staying in there for how many nights would surely not become a problem. Another plus of visiting this place is that the resorts are located near the port and so, traveling to different beaches and hotels would not be a hustle.
This adventure was quite quick and unplanned so we haven't got the best features this place could possibly offer. Capturing photos in here is great since the area is bright (of course, especially when the sun is out). You can greatly use the Negros Island as your background while taking photos along the seashore. Play with your contrast measurements and the exposure as well when you edit your photos. There are tons of editing tools both for mobile and desktop. Read this article about free apps that I use when I edit my photos. And yes, before we forget, it's wise to use sunblocks by the way. ;)
You can do lots of activities aside from taking pictures. You can do recreational activities such as snorkeling, diving, or boating. We have tried boating and it was amazing to feel as you paddle with the clear waters. Although it was fun, you must be careful with the aquatic plants on the seabed since you might accidentally step on venomous sea creatures.
On our way, we've seen girls doing something with the sea creatures. We asked them about it and they told us that they need to get the flesh inside of those sea creatures in order earn money. I had a small misadventure when I arrive at the seashore after riding a small boat. When I stepped down on the sand, I accidentally stepped on a sea urchin. The pain was bearable but I've felt the sting for how many hours after. The locals immediately helped me and told me that it would be fine.
One of the famous beaches in the southernmost area in Cebu is the Pebble Beach and you can definitely see the reason why it's called Pebble Beach. You can see a vast seashore filled with tons of pebbles. I think it's the reason why they named that beach with Pebble Beach.
To get into this marvelous place, you need no any experience at all. If your starting point is in Dumaguete City, You must ride a public transportation going to Sibulan Port. You'll only pay ten pesos for the ride and it only takes 20 - 30 minutes to travel. After arrival which is near the public market, you could reach the Sibulan port by walking or by taking another ride. You may select which ship will you ride as there are many options. The fee ranges from 60 - 75 pesos depending on the discounts available. The trip takes more or less 30 minutes and when you reach the Cebu Island, you may ride pedicab to take you to your choice of destination.
